Churchill
Initially, the page this piece is on had in image of Hitler
I had drawn on it rather than Winston Churchill, however I found the piece to
be unsuccessful, and unneeded.
The image was lacking in any artistic merit, it was flat and
unpleasing, and although I want my work to show the negative aspects of war, I
didn’t want homage to a mass-murdering fascist to be included in my work.
The piece I have done of Churchill I find much more
successful, the piece has more depth to it, showing a range of different line
and tonal qualities.
As I have done with my Lincoln piece, I used a much more
intricate technique and using a much more delicate process, although this time
I have added the highlights to the image, I find this broadcasts the darker
tones In a much more effective way.
