Genocide

Genocide

A certain aspect of war I have a particular interest in, genocide, it’s a hideous monstrosity which really highlights the reality of what humans can do, in many ways, genocide is far worse then war, rather than a battle, it’s a massacre, a true display of horror.

I was worried at first how I would portray the horror of genocide visually, without causing offence, however I had decided the only way to visually explain the severity of how bad genocide is, I chose to use fairly graphic imagery, such as images of bodies floating in a river, people hacked into pieces, and other imagery which may offend some people.

I have chosen to proceed to produce my final project based on genocide.

Initially I was anxious about obtaining primary research, as my work has been predominantly secondary research and I am not able to visit such places as the gas chambers ion Germany or the tutu tribe in Rwanda.

However, as my project is based on the nature of war, as long as I can capture the essence of the occurrences in my work, I can justify not using genuine representations of the events as I have done with my project based on Greek mythology.
