As I progressed through my project, and I decided which path
I was taking, I began to start my work leading up to y final outcome, producing
a series of drawings, painting and experimenting wit screenrints, to develop my
idea and progress towards my final piece.
When I moved onto my final piece, I wanted to be more ambitious
than I have for the last few projects, instead of doing one large painting, I wanted
to do two larger images on being a drawing, one a painting.
I initially for the black and white painting to be a
drawing, with collage in it, as I have done with one of my screenrints, however
after I had done the initial drawing, when I attempted to put the collage in, in
the way I had done with the print, it didn’t quite go, so instead I used white
paint and black ink to add extra shading and highlighting to the piece, as I didn’t
want to leave the image looking flat with a lack of depth.
The paining on the other hand was fairly straight forward,
with very few complications, the image came out almost precisely as I had
intended it to.
